    Sugiono
    Salimah
    Zaini
Sugiono, Fitria, Salimah and Zaini are currently at IALF Bali completing their 6 weeks pre-departure language training. They are recent ADS awardees. They will all travel to Australia very soon. All four have been working as English teachers in pondok pesantrens in East Java alongside Aussie teacher trainers (click on their names for information about their pondok pesantrens). These Aussie teacher trainers are members of AusAID's ISELP project.
Australian Partnership Scholarships (APS)

Both Teddy and Ira were APS awardees in 2005 and now they are in Australia studying. It could be you in 2006.

Teddy Tandayu comes from Manado. He is going to Australia with APS to study Master in Business Administration at Southern Cross University. It’s a university located in Lismore and pretty close to Sydney. Teddy also loved the course at IALF Bali.

‘Well, it’s really excellent, especially with the facilities that have been offered here. We, we got to learn new things here especially with the activities, academic writing and presentation and seminar, debating skills, and we can benefit a lot of more thing before we are going to Australia’.

Any advice for prospective applicants for APS?
'I would really recommend and really suggest them to try, to give a try to apply for ADS or at least APS since APS is only offered for two years only in 2005 and 2006. So I really suggest that they should try their best efforts in order to be offered a seat in the Australia and Partnership Scholarship program especially so that it can give them more knowledge and a further insight how to enhance their ability in the future'.

Ira is from Surabaya and she will hopefully go to Curtin University of Technology in Perth. Ira completed her Pre-Departure language Training at IALF in the middle of 2005. She loved the course and the experience of learning new things at IALF Bali. She especially enjoyed the academic culture at IALF. The style of learning really interested Ira with the need to be independent and resourceful. Of course hard work is also necessary.

Australian Leadership Awards provide scholarships for longer-term post-graduate study at masters or doctoral level and fellowships for short-term research, study or professional attachments. They will bring around 3200 scholars and fellows in the five years from 2006-2011 to study in Australia.

Managed by AusAID as part of Australia's overseas aid program, Australian Leadership Awards are open only to citizens of countries in the region that have a current Australian aid program.

The Awards will be available to present and future leaders and personnel in corporate, academic, non-government and government services.
