Kang Guru in the Classroom Revised March 2004

Kang Guru Radio English, with support from AusAID and the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation in Bali, has developed Kang Guru in the Classroom teaching packages. These packages are designed as supplementary materials only and are basically for Pre-Intermediate to Intermediate English level students. Kang Guru in the Classroom packages are designed for high school teachers to use in their English language classrooms. They are based upon Kang Guru Radio programs from Series 28.

This 2004 revised Teacher Package includes – 12 Kang Guru Radio English (KGRE) radio programs on cassette or audio CD from Series 28 full tapescripts for each 20 minute radio program series 28 Topic Index a comprehensive Teachers' Guide for using listening activities in the classroom and creating new ones an extra cassette with songs, idioms Inggris and news of education in Australia an extra cassette containing interviews with Indonesian personalities (GIGI, PADI, Audy and Ari Wibowo) and ‘Best of KGRE Reading Class Sets 2002 - 2004’ a wide range of listening activities from the original radio programs plus new Competency Based listening activities designed for this package suggestions for extra follow-up activities for selected segments

A wide range of activities is included with each 2004 Revised Edition Teacher Package. Each activity can be attached to a program segment however teachers can then transfer and adapt each type of classroom activity to other segments in series. Activities are designed for classrooms of 40 - 45 students. Photocopying of material is possible if facilities exist in schools. Teachers should note that the activities are suggestions only and not necessarily presented in the form of complete Lesson Plans. Some activities can be used immediately whereas others may need to be adapted to the situation in the classroom. The majority of the activities are Listening activities.
