Language Activity for August - September 2002

In the December 2002 magazine, KGRE will present three or four short stories (or reports) on places in Indonesia that are unusual in some special way. This ‘competition’ is open to KG Connection Clubs only and it is an opportunity for your Club to work together to write a  top-notch article for fellow language learners all over Indonesia to read. The article should be a maximum of 350 words and should be accompanied by at least  one photograph. The place you write about must be in your province. The winning Club will receive a collection of English grammar/idioms/vocabulary books and some great Aussie souveniers.

NEW Magazine!!

The latest KGRE magazine is now being sent out and you probably have your own copies by now. I hope so. Ogi and I have discussed this several times and we want to make it clear. All Clubs will receive a package of KGRE Reading Class Set which consists of 25 magazines (or less for Clubs whose members are less than 25) plus one audio copy of the magazine and some language activities too. The magazines in the package are meant for Club use and not for the members to take away. Use them for activities and for learning situations in regular Club meetings. If individual members want their own personal copies of the KGRE magazine then they should make sure that they are on the KGRE database. For those people who returned the 2002 KGRE Survey Form and for all people who have registered since January 2001, your magazines will be arriving soon at your address. We are updating KGRE database at the moment so please re-register your name and address for KGRE fans who registered before 2001. Remember, if your address changes then please tell us your new address. An exception applies here - if Clubs want to distribute magazines to their members then they need to tell KGRE how many they need. KGRE will send those magazines in one package. This will reduce our postage costs and everyone will get the magazine at the same time.
There are many, many competitions and tasks in the new magazine. Clubs should use these as Club based activities during the next few weeks.

Be sure to return the POUCH SURVEY as soon as possible to KGRE.
