Club Organisation Ideas

Several clubs have very interesting organisational structures to help make them run better. For example, some clubs have a Finance Committee. It is the job of this committee to look after the money of the club and to coordinate fund raising. They also report to the club members about the club’s financial situation. Other clubs have a Correspondence Committee. It is the job of this committee to make sure all letters and correspondence are read AND made available to the members. It also makes sure that all correspondence is answered (they can appoint other members to do this). This means that the leader of the club is not responsible for everything. Other members have jobs and responsibilities and therefore everyone helps the club to run more effectively. KGRE would like to suggest that clubs discuss this matter as soon as possible. Why not develop some committees or sub-committees in your club such as these:

  • POUCH Committee
  • Finance Committee
  • Club Activity Report (CAR) Committee
  • Correspondence Committee
  • KGRE Magazine Activities Committee
  • Competition Comittee

Some important notes from KGRE:

If Clubs are asking for sponsorship from local people or businesses please be careful about using the name of KGRE in your proposal. It is much better if you approach people on your own merits. Your Club is not a KGRE club but your club has affiliations with KGRE only. Remember KGRE is actually a sponsor of your club too.
Many clubs have asked KGRE for updated lists of other KGCCs - their addresses, telephone numbers, etc. Together with the next POUCH in October we will be happy to send you these updated lists. Then you can contact other clubs very easily. We will also send you Mini-Profiles of clubs. Clubs that would like to get the October 2003 List of Clubs MUST send their own 75 word Mini-Profile to KGRE before September 30th 2003. If clubs do not send their Mini-Profile by that date then they will not receive the new October 2003 List of Clubs.
NB. Writing the Mini-Profile should be a club language activity. Here’s more information to help you.

Our club is located in Central Jakarta near Gambir Station. We have 50 active

Our members are very interested in the environment and pollution. One of our favourite activities is discussing things that affect our daily lives such as pollution and traffic jams. We really enjoy excursions together.
