with Marcell

In late 2002 Kevin interviewed Marcell. Have you seen his new movie yet? It is called ‘Andai Ia Tahu’ and it is a very funny Indonesian movie. Marcell talked about his life, his plans for the future and his musical and movie career.

You can hear Marcell on KGRE radio in February and March, 2003. Be sure to listen as he is very interesting to listen to and his English language skills are fantastic. We will also be giving away some soundtracks from the movie so keep your ears ‘peeled’ for that competition.

re. Native Speakers

‘Have some understanding for the person you have approached. Maybe they are busy. Perhaps they are not confident with their English. Most of them are probably not English teachers so don’t expect them to be able to help you with all of your questions about grammar for example’.

Be sure to listen to radio programs 3706 and 3707. In Lizzy’s Language Lab you can hear information about how to talk with native speakers. Members from Best Forum Club (left) are pictured talking with native speakers in downtown Makassar.

Contact E-mails!

There are several clubs whose e-mail addresses do not work. KGRE has tried to contact these Clubs on several occasions but all mail is returned as undelivered. Please take note of these names. Hopefully these Clubs can get back online soon. The Clubs include UNIVERSITY STUDENT ENGLISH FORUM (USEF) in Jember, SICE (SOCIETY OF INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE ENGLISH) in Medan, ENGLISH DEBATE CLUB in Banyuwangi, SPACE CLUB in Bandung, ENGLISH CLUB EDUCATION in Padang, MR Y ENGLISH CLUB in Banten, AKBAR CONVERSATION CLUB in Pekanbaru, GARUDA CONVERSATION CLUB in Pekanbaru and BANJARBARU ENGLISH LOVERS CLUB in Banjarbaru.

Here is a good example why an e-mail address is important. After a quick series of e-mails we organised for a visit to the Fan’s Club in Kupang by a very interesting young man. Yudi is an Australian Development Scholarship student. He just recently left for Australia but before he left he visited the Kupang club and told them all about the ADS scholarship program. He gave the members a lot of very interesting information about the scholarship program. Theresia from the Club said the visit was terrific. The use of E-mails was very important in organising this event. If members of the Club have SMS phones then this is also a good way of quick contact.
