Sandhy Putra English Club - KGCC # 093

My English teacher, Ibu Mulyati, gave us a game called ‘Who’s Telling the Truth”. She mentioned meaning of an idiom ‘sangat bahagia’
Four students read out 4 possible idioms in English -
1. As happy as a cat in a cream factory.
2. As funny as a cart load of monkeys.
3. Singing from the same sheet of music.
4. There are plenty of fish in the sea.
Other students must say which one of the four students is telling the truth. Which is the CORRECT match for ‘sangat bahagia’?

Game Activities. We divided members into four groups. Each group had to find two words in the KGRE magazine. They could not tell them to the other groups. One of the students from each group came in front of the class. They wrote the words in jumbled order on the blackboard. The other groups had to find what the word was and translate it into Indonesian. The winner was the group who had the highest score. Other groups had to sing a song as a punishment.

Members complete language activities by using articles from KGRE magazine. With each article they have to do several different activities such as translation, making new sentences using nouns from the article and making questions using WH question words.
Example : a bit part of the translation from article about GIGI -
Mereka telah terkenal di Indonesia selama lebih dari 10 tahun ...
Making Questions: 1. How long have they been popular in Indonesia?
Making Sentences: 1. Many popular people have got their knowledge from books.
Kang Guru Fans’ English Club - KGCC # 012

We give one word and in one minute the competitors have to mention other words that are related to the word given - ‘Word Association’. e.g. HOTEL. Other words associated with the word hotel can include receptionist, room boy, restaurant, guests, swimming pool, lobby, waiting room, etc.
We also play ‘Head and Tail’. We make a circle of 6 people. We give a word to the first person and he/she must say a word that starts with the last letter of the given word and so on. For example: Heart - the first person will think of the letter ‘t’ - the last letter of ‘heart’. They may say ‘think’. The second person will continue with ‘key’ from the letter K and so on. The person who makes mistakes will be eliminated from the circle and the last person in the circle is the winner.
