Medan
English Society - KGCC # 050
Most children in our neighbourhood know nothing about English.
They just get the English lessons from their school. Most of them said
it is very expensive to take an English course. We found out the teachers
keep teaching just grammar. Even the teachers themselves are confused
since they do not know what to do with them. So we made up our mind to
work on a simple project called ‘English Special For Street Children’.
We invited six children in the neighbourhood to follow a short training
program for English conversation. This program lasted for two months.
We plan to organise the same program in the future and of course with
more participants.

Clubs
and club members can win KGRE t-shirts SO EASILY in February. We have
300 KGRE t-shirts to give away- completely FREE! All you have to do is
create a wall hanging (kumpulan komentar dalam bentuk display). The information
on the display (written and drawn) must show the impact (dampak) that
KGRE has had on individual members and the club itself. It is important
to involve club members in this writing and artistic activity. Make sure
to send the names of the people involved and make it clear which comments
or ideas they have contributed. If you would like to know more then just
telephone KGRE and talk to Ogi. Offer closes March 31st, 2004.
Simply explain how your connection with KGRE over the past months, or
years, has helped your club or club members – to develop English
language skills, to increase interest in English, to inspire confidence
to use the English language, to learn more about Australia, to understand
more about the role that AusAID plays in Indonesia.

Nurul Ihsan Meeting Club - KGCC # 028
We
have been teaching English to students of Nursing Academy for several
months. Some of the teaching material were taken from KGRE magazines
and Reading Set. We are now teaching for play group and primary school
children. We teach them counting, common knowledge and English. For
English we made one book and we call it ‘monitoring book’.
We can understand their ability when we see that book.
