Bifi English Club was established in August 2005. So it is a brand, new club. With 30 members in the club already they are determined to make the club strong and active. Under the leadership of Inah, the club has already completed many activities. Capt. KGRE visited this Club in November 2005 and he saw how keen the members are. KGRE is sure that there will be more greaty reports from this club in the future.

Activities:

  • English Outdoor Class activities
  • Super Camp
  • English Club’s Members Exchange
  • Cooperation with OSIS in schools in Bima
  • Visit Colleges
  • Contact the nearest KGCC English Clubs such as ALFA English Club in Mataram and Speaking English Club in Selong (East Lombok). These contacts are done in the hope that we will be able to hold a joint English event soon - maybe a Get Together?

Club Profile:

Bifi English Club is located in Bima. Our club is organized under the Bina’ul Fikri Foundation. The Bifi Foundation is the educational institution. The purpose of the founding of Bifi English Club was to make the Bina’ul Fikri’s students enjoy learning English more and to show them that English is fun and likeable.

Club members come from several grades. They start from First class in Junior high school up to university level students. We have regular meetings at least 2 times a week. In the regular meeting sometimes we discuss about using grammar, how to upgrade our mastery of the English, and then we try supporting and motivating each other especially in personal confidence.

 

InahInah, President of the Club, had the initiative to cooperate with Radio Pelangi to broadcast the KGRE radio program. She is also happy to present the English Interactive program every Sunday after the KGRE radio program.

It was also because of Inah’s planning and organisation that KGRE was able to visit Bima to conduct a successful workshop for English teachers there in November 2005. Thanks Inah!

Bifi English Club

Many thanks of course must go to KGRE which has given us great support by providing us with some learning resources and good advice. The most important thing is that KGRE has put a big reliance on us to handle KGRE’s broadcasting here. We try to practice our ability and our confidence because we have an English interactive show linked to KGRE here.
