CARs should tell us about the things the club has already done. If you’d like to tell us a little about your future plans that’s okay too, but we really want to know what you have been doing after you do it.

Here are some of the things we’d like to know about

  • Regular club meetings. Tell us about some of the interesting activities you do.
  • Special club activities. Many clubs go on excursions to tourist attractions, visit other clubs, celebrate special days and do community work.
  • How you use KGRE materials in your meetings
  • Favourite KGRE radio program and magazine segments
  • Discussion topics - past and future.
  • The kinds of activities your members like best
  • Guests at club meetings
  • Suggestions about how we might be able to help. (Please don’t ask for t-shirts! We use them as special prizes and cannot provide them for every club member.)
It’s not necessary for club leaders or other committee members to write all of the CARs. In fact, it’s better if other people share the work as this is good experience for them. Perhaps different people could write about different activities in the same CAR. Don’t worry about mistakes!

KGCC’s Debate Competition

Do you know some good debate topics? For example: ‘Sinetron (soap operas or TV serials) should be banned as they are a waste of time.’ We can all think of arguments for and against this statement, so it would be a good debate topic. Can you think of others?

Send us a list of three good debate topics with a CAR. They must arrive here before end of February 2007.

The three best entries will receive a great thesaurus to help you learn some new vocabulary to use in your debates. The winning entries will be published in the next POUCH with an article about debating.
Please note that all competition entries must be sent with a CAR telling us about club activities.

KGCC Competition Winners

The winner of the October-December POUCH competition is the Kulisusu Training English Club in Bone Rombo, Kabupaten Muna in Sulawesi Tenggara. Congratulations to La Ode Zukri and all of his club members. Your club has won a great electronic dictionary. We hope you have fun using it.
