Email Addresses

If your club has recently got an email address or changed your old one, please let us know as soon as possible so we can update our database. You can email me at kgcc@ialf.edu and/or include it in your next CAR. Using email is great, as you can contact other clubs easily and quickly, let them know what fun activities you are doing and also ask other clubs for their comments and suggestions. It’s also another opportunity to practice English and make new KGCC friends.

KGCC Network Email Group - have you joined yet?

This is a great way for club members to contact each other, leave messages and so on. Plus, every two weeks KGCC sends a message to those clubs, and their members, who have joined the new KGCC network email group. Remember, if you have an email address and haven’t joined KGCC yet, you should! Your club will have opportunities to enter online competitions and win prizes. All KGCC members are welcome.

CARS

Clubs need to send regular Club Activity Reports (CARS) every six to eight weeks. It’s a great idea to share the writing of the CARS. All members should have a chance to share details of their club’s special events and interesting activities. Some of this information is used in POUCH bulletins, on the website and in the magazine. Besides that, we at KGCC really enjoy reading about what your club has been doing. Don’t forget though, if you miss sending more than one CAR, you won’t receive copies of the next magazine, Listening and Reading Class Sets and so on!
When you send us your CAR, you need to describe some details of your meetings such as:

  • when and where the meetings were held
  • how many members attended, and
  • what kind of activities were done at your meetings.
We are really interested in hearing about the activities which your members enjoyed and possible tips and suggestions that can be passed on to other KGCC clubs to try.

KGCC Sticker Design Competition

Why not join in KGCC’s Sticker Design Competition 2008?

This is a club competition to design a new KGCC sticker for 2008. It needs to be a group effort from a club (ie. NOT by an individual). The club with the best design will win a prize. You may be inspired by the last KGCC sticker’s design or your club will hopefully come up with something innovative and representative of the new KGCC network. Prizes include games (for club use) such as Boggle and Scrabble, an Australian English- to-English dictionary and large wall maps of Australia. Good luck!
