Language Activity for June-July 2002

This new Language Activity is related directly to the KGRE Competition for 2002 as detailed in the April 2002 magazine. Somebody from your Club could win a trip to Bali with KGRE. Even though entries must be from individual people there is no reason why club members cannot think about the task together. It could be a good idea to have a brainstorm about it and think about the grammar and so on. Then individual club members could write their own entry and send it to KGRE. One of your club members could be the big winner.

Winners of the KGCC Language Activity for March - April

We received some excellent entries for the Nicole Kidman language activity from the last POUCH. Remember that these language activities are designed for clubs to work on as a group. They provide a useful and purposeful activity for a club meeting so we hope to get even more in the future. Come on Clubs - get working together! The winning entry for Nicole's Activity was from the Batak English Club. They have won English language books as well as the audio copy of KGRE December magazine for your Club to use. They will also receive 5 KGRE T-shirts, 20 KG key rings and some other goodies to use as prizes in their own Club language activities. Congratulations! Here is their article about Lulu Tobing - well done Batak English Club.

LULU TOBING

Lulu Tobing was born in Cilacap, November 21, 1977. She is Bataknese. She started her career in TV series 'Abad 21' in which she played Anita, a girl who was addicted to drugs. Lulu had to do an observation in a hospital for drugs addiction. "It was not easy. However, it has given me a lesson, a good one about how to act", she explained. Lulu Tobing"Thank to many great actors and actresses playing in 'Abad 21' who have been willing to help me".

Lulu Tobing could be one of the luckiest actresses. She won the 1992 cover girl contest and luck has not seemed to go far away from her. Many offers she has got and a fame she holds now. However, the fame cannot change her. "I am like I used to be", Lulu said. "The fame doesn't change me and I don't think that I should change myself".

'Tersanjung' is another successful TV series. Lulu has to play a young mother. It is a new experience for her. It is also a good role for her to show her ability in acting.
