Galilei Club

A Short History of the Club

This club was founded in July, 2003. We did this because we would like to improve and develop our knowledge especially English. And we are conscious that we have little knowledge of English and we know that to face the global era we really need English - the international language. Our members are all girls and all are around 17 years of age. We joined the club through our boarding school. We have relationship with other organisations such as LIPS (Language Intensive Programs of SLTP), FLDC (Foreign Language Development Centre), PSI (Centre for Islamic Study), Language Plus and Language Centre.

Weekly Club Activities

Monday Enlarge Vocabulary. We also do tasks such as learning English words by heart and the winners will get a prize.
Tuesday Gymnastics. In order to keep our body healthy. This activity using music is for all members of Galilei Club.
Friday Clean Friday’ is cleaning around our dormitory for basic health reasons.
Sunday The English Exercise and English Debate. Activities include reading KGRE magazine and listening to KGRE cassette in our classrooms.

We very enjoy these activities. The songs help us to study English words. The songs are not so difficult and easy for us to adapt.

Capt. KGRE visited the Galilei Club on the 3rd of April 2006 and here is a part of his Travel Report posted on the KGRE Travel Page.

.....There were probably 100 girls at the meeting and they were fantastic. They were keen, vibrant and their English was so good. There were lots of questions and lots of excitement too. We had games and quizzes and even teachers joined in......
