Under the leadership of Pak Musta’ien from the Pioneer English Club in Madura, over 200 KGCC members attended the first ever KGCC Get Together in Madura at Pondok Pesantren Al-Amien. It was held on Friday September 6th, 2002. The organising committee did a wonderful job and KGRE knows that all people who attended really appreciated the hard work put by those keen and helpful members. It was a fantastic day indeed! |
It was a busy October for KGRE, and for Captain Kangguru.
An invitation to conduct a Teacher Workshop came from the KGCC PRIDE Club
for fellow English teachers in Pare - Kediri, East Java. Over 150 participants
took part in the full day workshop.It was a great  opportunity
to introduce KGRE to teachers and students in the area which is already
famous for English courses and English language teaching. |

As always with every visit, Kevin also spent time meeting members from the Kang Guru Connection Clubs. Pak Arwani, the Adviser of the PRIDE Club organised the time and place for club members to meet with Captain Kang Guru. While Kevin was there he spent time working with some younger members of the PRIDE Club. They were keen and enthusiastic SD aged students who are ‘mad on English’. It is also hoped, with further assistance from PRIDE, that a new KGRE radio broadcaster will be established in East Java. It was interesting that in a city so well-known for English language studies that there seemed to be little attention paid to English language on local radio. |
