News from KGRE - Review of KGRE Connection Clubs
Over the past five or six years a big part of Kang Guru has been the Connection Club network. There have been hundreds of clubs and many thousands of members from all over Indonesia during that period. The Kang Guru Connection Club began in 2003 with just a few clubs joining the network. Before long, over one hundred clubs had joined KGCC. It was a hectic time at KGRE for sure. Since those early days the number of clubs has, on average, been around 60 or so. At the moment there are 72 clubs. As far as Kang Guru can see, some of these clubs are very active and that is fantastic. We really appreciate their hard work and enthusiasm. However, many of the current KGCCs are not active, or should we say, not interactive with Kang Guru. Maybe these clubs and their members are just too busy these days? Let’s look at some figures below for the past 6 months and you will see that the POUCH, for example, and perhaps the KGRE/KGCC relationship in general, is just not active enough. |

As no clubs or members have joined the KGRE Yahoo e-mail group we have decided to cancel the account with Yahoo. |
Please understand that the staff at KGRE put in a lot of time and effort on the KGCC network – POUCH, visits, letters and emails, website information, free materials, regular competitions, magazine news, prizes, feedback, etc. It appears to us that the POUCH, for example, for most clubs anyway, is a one-way type of interaction. Due to this apparent lack of interest with the POUCH, Kang Guru regrets that we will stop producing it until further notice.
Note: Between now and the end of 2007, no new language clubs will be admitted into the Connection Club network although applications can still be sent to KGRE.
