Club Activity Reports (CARS)

Some KGCCs regularly send us the most fantastic CARS full of really detailed information describing recent activities and games they have played at their meetings. Some share the writing of their CARS, with different club members writing about a different activity so writing the CAR does not take so long. Sometimes one person writes the whole CAR and while this is good too, it is sometimes difficult for one person to always find the time to write a detailed CAR. It’s good practice for your written English for members to share the writing. It doesn’t matter if there are mistakes, the most important thing is that ALL clubs send KGCC a CAR every 6 to 8 weeks.

Unfortunately, there are 25 clubs who haven’t sent KGCC a CAR for several months. Nine clubs have not sent a CAR since April/May 2007. Remember, if you don’t send KGCC regular CARS every 6 to 8 weeks then we will stop sending KGRE materials to you. Sixteen clubs did not receive the KGRE September 2007 magazine or the latest KGRE Listening Reading Class Sets for September. It is extremely disappointing for us to have to do this.

Club News

New clubs who have joined KGCC network since the last edition of POUCH include Banyumas English Club (KGCC #101) from Purwokerto in East Java, Active Studying in English Club ( KGCC # 112) from Pamekasan in Madura, AECO English Community (KGCC #103) from Mataram, Lombok and LGenda English Club also from Lombok in NTB. Borneo English Club (KGCC # 097) rejoined the network after having difficulties when their previous leader left. A warm KGCC welcome to all the above clubs. DON’T forget those CARs, okay?

English Clubs in Lombok, AECO (KGCC#103) having fun with Gado-Gado English Club (KGCC#091).

KGCC Visits to Clubs

Possible visits in the next few months include visits to the Excellent Club in Jombang ( KGCC #026) and also Banyumas (KGCC #101) in Mojokerto just after a KGRE Teacher Workshop in Cilicap in late November. There is also a possibility of a visit to clubs in the Banyuwangi area in early December as clubs there are particularly active. KGCC looks forward to visiting KGCC network clubs, but we need to be invited first. It doesn’t have to be for anything special but can also be to attend competitions or maybe a mini get-together with other clubs in the area. So, if you would like a visit from KGCC, just write or email an invitation saying when you would like KGCC to visit.

There were over 300 entries for this competition. Obviously using SMS is very popular and easy!

The July-September POUCH KGCC Sticker Design Competition was won by Ahmad Qowi Saleh from the English Achievement Club (KGCC#087) in Kediri. This club entered many great designs and we will be sending the English Achievement Club some KGRE prizes including CDs, books, and souvenirs from Australia - pins, badges, etc. Also congratulations to the other clubs who entered this competition. KGRE will be sending prizes to them too. It is a pity that ONLY three clubs entered this competition.
