Sue traveled to Lombok to present yet another KGI teache rworkshop activity in conjunction with LAPIS-ELTIS,
an AusAID activity in Indonesia.
Here's Sue's Report for you to read.
This was the third time I have visited the ELTIS office in Mataram to present a KGI workshop for some of the
ELTIS teachers. Each group is given a KGI workshop on completing CELT 3 course which focuses on listening
and reading skills. This time was slightly different in that there were two large classes in one small room!
However the cosy atmosphere seemed to work okay and the students were very active. When KGI presents these
workshops the students are always very happy – I’m not sure if it because it’s a KG workshop
or if it’s because it’s the last day of their course!
Some of the activities were done individually, some in pairs and a few (with some difficulty) in small groups.
I say with difficulty as the participants wanted to use the table-tops and so a certain amount of shuffling
of chairs had to take place to accommodate everyone. It was a tight fit! However this didn’t dull the
enthusiasm of the participants and everyone was keen to join in the activities.
Unfortunately because Trans Nusa had phoned to say my flight was leaving an hour earlier than scheduled we
had to stop the workshop at 3:00 – but not before the usual Kang Guru quizzes had taken place! The
teachers returned home with some new ideas and some souvenirs from KGI.
